Big Hoops Recruiting Update (Nov. 9)

In case you missed yesterday's drama, 2012 PF Shaq Goodwin made a twitter announcement concerning his college choice...then backed out a little:

Then, about an hour later...

It appears that he is still committed to the Tigers, but I would be surprised if he goes ahead and signs during the early signing period (which has now started). All along, he said he will wait and sign in the spring, so I don't know what prompted the announcement in the first place.

Also of note, 2012 UGA combo guard commit Kenny Gaines officially signed his letter of intent yesterday. But what was interesting is what Gaines said about 2012 PF Robert Carter, who is set to announce his decision this Thursday. In the above linked ESPN video, Gaines said that he has talked to Carter on twitter, and Carter said he is feeling pressure to sign with GA Tech, but also still likes UGA. Gaines said he told Carter why he should still consider UGA since he is interested. This is interesting because recently, all we have seen are signs that Carter is committing to Tech on Thursday. Could we have a late switch? Who knows. The Carter announcement will now be televised by ESPNU at 5pm on Thursday.

We'll keep you updated if we hear of any more rumblings. This Goodwin/Carter recruitment has been all over the place it seems.
