Alumni Spotlight: AJ Green Soaring!

Much to the chagrin of Dawg fans, this past off-season superstar all-world receiver AJ Green chose to forego his senior season and enter the NFL draft. Green  was drafted 4th overall by the Cincinnati Bengals and, to put it mildly, has found early success.

Green currently leads all rookie receivers with 745 yards, which is good enough for 16th in the NFL among all pass catchers. AJ has accumulated that impressive total on 44 receptions, a 16.9 average per catch, scoring 6 touchdowns through only 10 games. He missed the week 11 matchup with the Ravens due to a knee injury sustained a week earlier against the Steelers. It is also noteworthy that Green is putting up these numbers while working with a rookie quarterback in Andy Dalton, who was the Bengals' 2nd round pick.

At his current pace, Green is in no danger of breaking Bill Groman's rookie yardage record of 1,473 set in 1960, but he can put up remarkable numbers for a rookie. If AJ is able to maintain his current averages he could possibly end the season with 66 receptions 1,118 yards and 9 touchdowns. Those numbers would put him sneaky close to making the Pro Bowl in his first season. GATA AJ!

A few of AJ's rookie highlights thus far.
