Thursday Thrash: Boise Gettin' Housing for Nothing...

Thursday Thrash is a weekly segment in which we incorporate some of the greatest songs of all time (mostly metal, but not always) into a topically relevant post revolving around current issues at the University of Georgia. As a note, artistic liberties will be frequently used in this relation. Basically, the only premise/rule is that I can't put on some crappy Shania Twain song or some no-talent lightning catcher with autotune (see KESHA).

...and their chicks for free. The NCAA handed down punishment on certain Boise State athletic programs (yes, including football) yesterday. The tennis team committed the worst of the violations, as the women's team will be subjected to a postseason ban this season. Here is what the football team's penalties are:

The Committee on Infractions cited recruiting, impermissible housing and transportation violations in the football program during the summers of 2005 through 2009. In particular, the committee noted that the football violations occurred over a lengthy period of time and involved 63 prospective student-athletes.

So there you have it...we lost to a bunch of cheaters I tell ya. Anyway, I felt that a little "Money For Nothing" was in order for this situation. And after watching the video, I want you to note a couple of things:
  1. Dire Straits is a very underrated band, as they had a unique rock sound that still sounds great
  2. Ascetically speaking, they have to be the ugliest band in the history of music. I mean, just look at how goofy Mark Knopfler and the bass player look.
Happy Thrashing everyone...
