More on Dawgs' New Hoops Commit + Shaq Goodwin News

In case you missed it yesterday, Mark Fox and UGA picked up their third commitment for the 2012 basketball class. Brandon Morris, a 6-7 SF from Miller Grove High School, informed Fox yesterday afternoon that he would be a Dawg. Morris, along with several other UGA recruits, had been visiting this past weekend for the South Carolina game, and must have liked what he saw. He joins guards Kenny Gaines and Charles Mann as the first (and hopefully not last) commits for 2012.

As for his game, Morris is a very long, athletic, left-handed small forward, who -- as many UGA basketball recruits are described -- is a "raw talent". Here is what his ESPN profile had to say:

"Morris is another of the many Miller Grove kids that can play. He is an active athlete that is relentless on the glass. He has the potential to be a lock down defender with excellent length and lateral quickness."

He also had an impressive offer list, which included Florida, FSU, Kansas State, Memphis, Alabama, and Arkansas. Another important note -- Fox is starting to show a knack for keeping Georgia kids in-state. As much talent that the state produces, it is imperative that Fox keeps them here, and I think he knows that.

Here is a brief video of Morris in action in case you haven't seen him:

Now..as for Shaq Goodwin -- he has apparently narrowed his list down to three, none of which are surprises: UGA, Memphis, and UCLA (per Dan @ UGASports.com). And I have been monitoring his twitter account lately and it is getting interesting:

I don't know who Mr. Keskonis is but the point is...he knows where he is going. Unfortunately it looks like we will have to wait on his announcement because he is still making official visits. We'll keep you updated.
