2 Days: Brandon Boykin and Parker Welch

Stacked Rock!

Only two days my friends!! That’s right I’m yelling at you through the computer. The September air is ripe with anticipation. Let’s do the damn thing already. To be honest I’m tired of counting. Day two is a double whammy as we celebrate senior cornerback Brandon Boykin and freshman walk-on quarterback Parker Welch.

Boykin well…he’s good and I believe everyone knows it.. Expectation are high for Brandon as he was named to every watch list known to man: Bednarik Award, Najurski Award, Jim Thorpe Award, Paul Hornung Award, CFPA Defensive Back Trophy, and CFPA Kickoff Returner Trophy. After what hopes to be a stellar senior campaign, Brandon should make a good living playing on Sundays. I look for more consistency and better run support out of Boykin this season.

Which brings us to our other and lesser known quantity at number two, Parker Welch. Welch is a 6-3 204 pound freshman signal caller out of Wayne County. Now is Parker the heir to the Welch’s fruit juice and snack fortune? I kinda doubt it, but that would be cool. Parker has been putting in the time with the scout team this fall and did his best Kellen Moore impersonation for the past couple of weeks. Hopefully Welch is a theater major, as he will be doing a lot of acting this year while helping Lemay run the scout team.

Next up Branden Smith and/or Isaiah Crowell!
Grape juice millionaire?

  1. Very excited about Boykin this year. I think he is the difference maker we needed to return in order for this defense to be better. Go Dawgs!!!
