Quick Hoops Recruiting Update

As we all look watch fall practice get under way (and cross our fingers we have no injuries, I thought I would pass along a quick hoops update. Here are some of the latest updates I have heard:
  • Terry Henderson (6-5 SG) -- Just received an offer from UGA not too long ago. He is a bit of a late bloomer and I have to be honest, the fact that he is from North Carolina and has NO offers from any north carolina schools does sent up a red flag. But judging from his video below, he very well could be a diamond in the rough:

  • Kenny Gaines (6-4 SG) -- According to Dan,com he has narrowed his list down to 5: UGA, Tech, Iowa, Clemson, and South Carolina. IF we snag him I will be pretty satisfied with our backcourt commits since we already got Charles Mann.
  • Shaq Goodwin (6-8 PF) -- UGA coaches saw him play recently. He still says he wants to play both sports and UGA is one of the few schools (along with UCLA) that have offered him a scholly in both.
  • Robert Carter (6-8 PF) -- Is actually transferring to Shiloh High School to play his senior season. By all accounts UGA is still in the mix with the five-star PF.
These are few recent updates I have heard. We'll keep you updated if we hear anything interesting in the near future.

  1. Any news on where we stand with Tony Parker's teammate, Brandon Morris? From what I have seen he would be an excellent get for SF

  2. Martin Van DawginAugust 5, 2011 at 1:20 PM

Word is we're in the top-2 with Florida, but he's starting to blow up and get a lot of interest from other high-majors. Not that he wasn't already a big recruit, he just really shined down in Orlando recently and lead his team.

He's our #1 target at SF now, so I'd expect he gets a lot of love from Fox and CO. over the next 6 months.
