Two MORE 2012 Commitments for UGA

Deloach (left) and Taylor (right)

This is just one more case of "when it rains, it pours"...and no, I'm not talking about the Morton's Salt slogan. I'm talking about college football recruiting. Just a couple of days after getting commitments from FB Quayvon Hicks and P Colin Barber, the Dawgs snagged two more in the form of Jenkins County teammates Jonathan Taylor (DT) and James DeLoach (LB). Both of these guys are very highly touted and had an impressive array of offers including pretty much every SEC and ACC team.

Taylor (6-4 315) is currently rated as the #36 overall player according to the Rivals.com rankings, while DeLoach (6-3 265) is rated as the #33 and #59 Defensive End by ESPN and Scout.com respectively, and will most likely be playing outside linebacker for the Dawgs.

This now makes 10 commitments for the Dawgs in 2012. After missing out on a few guys lately, this makes me feel a LITTLE better about Richt and Co. As long as we are still getting top talent, I guess Richt's candle can remain lit (for a while).

Here are the rest of our commits so far in 2012, not counting Taylor and DeLoach (via Rivals.com):

  1. Taylor is the top prospect in the State. He's not just a player to pacify us because we temporarily missed a couple of players.
