Thursday Thrash: Scuttle Buttin' in Japan

Thursday Thrash is a weekly segment in which we incorporate some of the greatest songs of all time (mostly metal, but not always) into a topically relevant post revolving around current issues at the University of Georgia. As a note, artistic liberties will be frequently used in this relation. Basically, the only premise/rule is that I can't put on some crappy Shania Twain song or some no-talent lightning catcher with autotune (see KESHA).

I don't really need the following video to be UGA-related. But if you're picky here are some things that Stevie Ray Vaughan has in common with UGA in this video:
  1. He's wearing an all-red outfit.
  2. (struggling mightily to think of another one)
Anyway, I guess "Scuttle Buttin" would be an appropriate phrase to describe our football team lately, but if they made music like this, it would be more tolerable. (NOTE: this takes place in Japan which makes the fact that he is smoking a pipe while playing a ridiculously difficult guitar piece simultaneously humorous and awesome). Enjoy.

  1. Finally some decent music selected for the Thursday Thrash.

  2. Are you saying that you don't like Phil Collins, Helloween, Anvil, and Yngwie Malmsteen?

    I'm appalled....

But seriously, Phil Collins and Yngwie are good times waiting to happen. I can understand your affectation for one of the greatest of all time (SRV) over some of those more obscure metal bands.

At any rate, thanks for stopping by. We appreciate it and hope you enjoy H2H!
