Diamond Dawgs Update

After a very college-baseball-like comeback in this past weekend's Auburn series finale (the Dawgs scored NINE runs in the ninth inning), the Dawgs find themselves with a record 25-23 on the season. While that doesn't sound too sexy, the Dawgs are 14-10 in conference play (in the toughest conference) and most importantly, their RPI rating is 21st in the nation.

Here is the Dawgs upcoming schedule...with only six conference games left, I think a good goal is to finish at or above .500 in these games:

(Note that the Vandy game (a team consistently ranked in the top 10) that is highlighted is on ESPNU).

Here are some of UGA's player stats thus far:

And the pitching stats:

Needless to say, I am REALLY hoping the Diamond Dawgs make a run for a couple of reasons:
  1. I want to see them do well because I'm a fan
  2. Close the gap between the end of baseball and the start of fall practice
I mean, if South Carolina can do it, why can't we?
