Crowell's Visit and Offensive Simulation Was Indeed Offensive to the NCAA

Per Gentry Estes of 247Sports, when Mark Richt arranged for Isaiah Crowell to line up at RB with the rest of the team in formation, it was (like everyone thought) a recruiting violation. The punishment for the crime was a ban for Mark Richt on the phones for the month of April, which he will probably have to serve pending an appeal to the NCAA.

Crowell was also briefly ruled ineligible, but was quickly reinstated by the NCAA. Gentry has a good article on what was the most obvious recruiting violation that wasn't initially thought of as recruiting violation I've ever heard of. Yeah, that was a long sentence, but you get the point.

The first thing I thought when I heard this was, "Wow, that can't be legal," and sure enough it isn't.

Great idea though. Sounds like something Bama or Florida would do.... and I like it.
