Dawgs Get Number 18

Ramik Wilson, ILB from Tampa Florida made his pledge to Georgia last night. Wilson is a 6'3 225-pound bruiser, who has seen his stock drastically rise in the last few months. Florida, Miami, and USC have all recently offered Wilson, as his senior season at Jefferson High School was dominant.

What is very intriguing about Wilson is his versatility. He can play inside or outside in Grantham's scheme, which is one reason that I think the Dawgs put the full-court press on him late. He is considered a four-star by ESPN and is ranked as the 10th inside linebacker in the 2011 class. With the depth at linebacker positions and Marcus Dowtin's uncertain future, I fully expect Wilson to compete for a good bit of playing time this fall, if not starting time. I also think that he may get a shot at Houston's vacant outside spot. He has expressed a lot of interest in playing at that spot recently and said that this was the reason that Texas Tech was so high on his list.

Go Dawgs and welcome Mr. Wilson!
