Injury Bug Hits Arkansas and Vandy Hard

The two top playmakers for the the Hogs and 'Dores have been lost for the season. Apparently Fayetteville, Arkansas is not a friendly place for your best players to show their stuff. Arkansas wideout Greg Childs and Vandy's  RB/KR/PR and full-time BOSS Warren Norman are done for the year.

Childs suffered a patellar tendon injury in the fourth quarter against Vanderbilt on Saturday. Going into a big game with Carolina this week, this is a huge loss for Arkansas. Childs will undergo surgery this week and will be out for four to six months. His stats for this season are 46 catches for 659 yards and 6TD (via cfbstats.com).

Norman's loss presents a big challenge to first-year man Robbie Caldwell, as his offense was predicated on Norman returning kickoffs and punts for touchdowns. A dislocated wrist, which seems like something that could kill you from sheer pain, was suffered in the loss last week at Arkansas. Norman lead the Dores in rushing and was 4th on the team in receiving, while also handling kick and punt return duties. He is expected to have surgery on the wrist today.

I wish the both of them a speedy recovery.
